Cross-Generational Collaboration: The Value of Diverse Perspectives

For the first time in history, workplaces have five different generations working together, side by side. This can be a recipe for stress and conflict or an unprecedented opportunity for collaboration and innovation.

This discussion aims to help increase awareness of the five generations currently in the workforce and share advice and best practices for bridging inter-generation divides.

A few highlights:

  •     Recognizing the main characteristics, strengths, and challenges of different generations – including Traditionalists, Baby boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z
  •     Moving beyond generational bias and stereotypes 
  •     Avoiding conflict and increase intergenerational collaboration
  •     Intentionally bringing together the best qualities of each generation
  •     Adapting communication methods, formats, and tones to connect most effectively to individuals
